Sun at Six is Closing

A letter from Antares, creative director and founder of Sun at Six

Today I have a difficult announcement to make: after almost 10 years, Sun at Six is closing its doors.

It’s a difficult feeling to put into words. Sun at Six has watched me grow up as much as I’ve watched it. We’ve seen each other through incredible highs and debilitating lows, the full range of human emotions. My life has been tied fully to this studio and all that comes with it.

When I started Sun at Six, I didn’t have any expectations. What began as just a passion project - a few pieces brought to a trade show - spiraled into something far larger than just myself and what I imagined. Never would I have believed our work would live across the continents, nor would I believe the names, brands, and numbers that would purchase our work, endorse our studio. 

The greatest joys have come from working with and meeting each of you - from interior designers to small business owners to each of you who’s believed in us and cherished our work.  And of course I want to thank our wonderful team that’s seen us through thick and thin. 

These past few days have been sobering. It’s surreal to look at our warehouse and watch the last of some of our pieces go out the door: that’s it - there really won’t ever be any more Rise Bookstands anymore. 

At the end of the day, despite all the creative hair pulling and ups and downs, I can look back and say I’m truly proud of the work we’ve done, and how far we’ve come.

We hope that whether you’ve been alongside us from the beginning or are just joining us now, our work has been and will continue to play a supporting role to the memories and stories of your life, now and for many years to come.
